….in that order. In 1991, sixteen translators got together in Hamburg to set up a translation agency. The name of the agency: Textra Fachübersetzungen. Their aim: to deliver excellent work under fair conditions.
As time has shown, the idea wasn’t bad. And neither was the work.
Over the years, Textra has grown steadily to become a large, busy language agency with offices in Hamburg and Berlin. We work with more than 200 native-speaker translators and interpreters with a large bandwidth of specialised knowledge.
We have grown considerably since 1991, but our basic approach to our work hasn’t changed a bit. We have never viewed translations as commodities that can be traded like potatoes. Each translation is a unique communications task and linguistic challenge. When you call our office, you know that you won’t be speaking to a receptionist, but to a fully qualified translator. And while this person may only be acting as an intermediary, he or she understands the task at hand immediately, can pinpoint problems faster and is in a better position to give you the advice and level of assistance you need.
